Who is Malay Ray Sir?
First things first! So, who is Malay Sir. Is he part of a coaching company or is he a faculty at any B-school? Turns out, he currently holds a top management position in a leading global insurance company and has over 25 years of corporate experience at top management levels in multinationals. He is an engineer and IIM Ahmedabad alumnus and currently lives in South-East Delhi.
Malay Sir also told MBAUniverse.com that is not associated with any coaching companies, although some of the leading ones have approached him many times. Currently he has taken a short break from his corporate career to focus on GDPI coaching.
What is Malay Ray GDPI Classes?
Next, we asked Malay Sir how he got into GDPI coaching? Well, Malay Ray's GDPI classes were accidentally initiated in 1998, and the saga has continued for last 25 years. Malay Ray told MBAUniverse.com, "I started in 1998 with a request from a few IIT Delhi boys to help them in CAT. We got an excellent result with half of them getting admitted to IIMA, and that started the journey."
How is Malay Sir’s Success Rate
When MBAUniverse.com asked Malay Ray about the results/final admits achieved by his students, he smiled and humbly said, “In 2023, the final admissions of my students were: 30 in IIM Ahmedabad, 42 in IIM Bangalore, 60 in IIM Calcutta, 85 in IIM Lucknow, 33 in FMS Delhi, to name a few.”
Digging deeper, MBAUniverse.com asked how many students does he enroll, that lead to these number, Malay Sir said, “I enroll only about 200 students every year. I want to make sure I give my very best to every student who enrolls with me!”

Next, he says that candidates should have big dream but be willing to work hard and smart to achieve them. “Never sacrifice your dream. Go ahead and turn it into reality," says Malay Ray.
