NIRF Ranking 2024 Management was released on August 12. While there were few changes in the top end of the rankings, there were plenty of surprises lower down the order. The first part in this series focused on Government and Public B-schools which have done exceedingly well in NIRF Ranking 2024. In this second article, we will cover Private B-schools including best performing PGDM B-schools and Private University B-schools. MICA Ahmedabad
At the top of the charts is MICA Ahmedabad which has significantly improve its ranking in spite of being a niche B-school with a strong focus on marketing and allied areas. MICA has improved its rankings in NIRF Management Ranking 2024 by 5 rankings – moving up from #37 to #32. Check table 1 (a) below.

It is interesting to note that this jump in rankings in not supported by increase in Total Score. According to MBAUniverse.com analysis, available on MICA Ahmedabad Ranking page, MICA’s total score for NIRF Management Ranking 2023 was 264.87 while total score for NIRF Management Ranking 2024 is 264.70. Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA)
Another niche B-school that has done well in NIRF Management Ranking 2024 is also based in Gujarat - Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA). As is well known, IRMA’s forte is Rural and Agri Business Management. Similar to MICA, IRMA too has improved its rankings by 5 ranks – moving up from #54 to #49. Check table 2 below.

Lower down the NIRF 2024 Rankings, we can see bigger jumps in ranks for Private B-schools. One such B-school is Great Lakes Institute of Management Gurgaon, a sister institution of Great Lakes Institute of Management Chennai. The ranking for Great Lakes Gurgaon has risen sharply by 10 Ranks – up from # 62 last year to # 52 this year. Check table 3 below.

Similar to Great Lakes Gurgaon, another Delhi NCR based B-school that has risen sharply in NIRF Rankings 2024 is Fore School of Management, New Delhi. The ranking for Fore School of Management, New Delhi also has risen sharply by 10 Ranks – up from # 63 last year to # 53 this year. Check table 4 below.

It is interesting to note that jump in rankings for FORE School in not supported by increase in Total Score. As highlighted on Fore School of Management New Delhi NIRF Rankings page on MBAUniverse.com, the Total Score for FORE School was 249.10 as per NIRF Rankings 2024, while the same score stood at 248.91 in last year’s rankings. In addition to MICA, IRMA, FORE and Great Lakes Gurgaon, two other B-schools stand out for their jump in NIRF Rankings 2024. They are IMI Kolkata and Jaipuria Institute of Management Lucknow.
International Management Institute (IMI) Kolkata
Part of IMI Group of Institutions that also include IMI New Delhi and IMI Bhubaneshwar, International Management Institute (IMI) Kolkata has seen a massive jump of 14 ranks in latest NIRF Rankings 2024. The ranking for IMI Kolkata has risen from # 70 last year to # 56 this year. Check table 5 below.

Jaipuria Institute of Management Lucknow has managed to increased its rankings by a massive 20 Ranks! The ranking for Jaipuria Lucknow has risen sharply from # 92 last year to # 72 this year. Check table 6 below.

Further analysis of Jaipuria Lucknow’s performance reveals that it has increase its scores on most of the five parameters.
