The application fee is Rs.1500/- which should be paid online and the application form can be filled and submitted online only. SPJIMR will shortlist you on the basis of your profile even before the result of XAT 2020 or CAT 2019 is declared, provided you have applied before the last date of submitting admission application to SPJIMR.

Another important feature in SPJIMR admission process is that the institute has announced the personal interview dates in different cities for admission to PGDM 2020 without waiting for CAT or XAT exam result. SPJIMR Mumbai Fees

SPJIMR Intake 2020: 276 Students
The flagship PGDM 2020-22 batch at SPJIMR has an intake of 240 students for Indian Nationals. Additional 36 seats are available for PIO/OCI and Foreign Nationals. The total intake for the batch is 276 seats.

Profile Based Shortlisting Before CAT/XAT Result
SPJIMR Mumbai admission criteria and the process for PGDM 2020 are unique. As per the SPJIMR Admission Criteria, a candidate will be considered for SPJIMR Mumbai admission on the basis of his/her profile while the CAT 2019 and XAT 2020 exam scores will be taken into account when the results are declared. Apart from the CAT and XAT exam scores, GMAT exam scores are also considered in SPJIMR admission process.

SPJIMR Mumbai Admission Eligibility

  1. To meet the SPJIMR eligibility criteria, an applicant must possess a strong and consistent academic background. Performance in 10th grade, 12th grade and every year of graduation are considered in the SPJIMR selection process
  2. The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA
  3. The bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent
  4. If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IIM Ahmedabad by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100 to confirm the eligibility of the candidate
  5. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.
  6. It is mandatory for a final year student, who is provisionally considered eligible by SPJIMR Mumbai and offered admission, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination latest by December 31, 2020. 
  7. The Applicant should register and appear for CAT 2019/XAT 2020 or GMAT (Taken between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2019) exam and must have scored minimum prescribed score in the entrance exam to become eligible for admission
  8. Work experience is not mandatory for this program. Fresh graduates and those with up to five years of work experience can apply.
  9. Relevant work experience after graduation will only be considered.

SPJIMR Admission Criteria 2020 is a two step process. The first step is shortlisting criteria based on profile and profile-cum-entrance exam score and the second step involves two rounds of group interviews.

    The first part of SPJIMR Mumbai Admission criteria is its shortlisting criteria for final selection round. A candidate will be shortlisted by SPJIMR Mumbai in two phases:

SPJIMR Shortlisting Criteria Phase-I: Profile Based

  • The applicants are shortlisted on the basis of their profiles.
  • The candidates should also meet the qualifying scores in the entrance exam
  • The profiles are scored and the applicants are sorted into Profile based Shortlist
  • Applicants shortlisted on the basis of their profiles are called for an early interview.
  • The profile based shortlist is based on Consistency of academic record, Relevance of work experience for the specialization, Versatility & achievements
  • Early interviews are convenient for students because it avoids overlapping with other interview calls during the admissions season
  • For the Institute, early interviews gives an opportunity to stagger interviews and ensure that the interview process remains flawless even though numbers being interviewed are large.

SPJIMR Shortlisting Criteria Phase-II: Profile-Cum-Score Based

  • Applicants are also sorted into Profile-cum-score based group  
  • The second phase of shortlist is finalized for interviews after the availability of entrance test scores.
  • Applicants in this phase are called for interviews on basis of their profile and their performance in the CAT/ XAT/GMAT entrance tests.

CAT/XAT/GMAT Score Cut Off  
SPJIMR Mumbai gives higher emphasis on other quality parameters in its admission process. Accordingly, the B-school has not pegged the CAT, XAT, GMAT score cut off 2020 very high. The candidates above the minimum cut-offs in the CAT/XAT/GMAT will be considered for all the subsequent stages.

SPJIMR Mumbai Admission Process
Following steps are included in the SPJIMR Mumbai Admission process:

Step 1: Choose Specialization at Application Stage
Carefully register and apply for admission to SPJIMR. While applying, the applicant is required to select two preferences from four specializations offered - Finance, Information Management, Marketing Management and Operations & Supply Chain.

Step 2: Appear in Entrance Exam
The candidate must have appeared or have registered to appear and score the minimum required percentile in CAT 2018/XAT 2019 or GMAT (Exam taken from Jan 1, 2017 to Dec 31, 2019)

Step 3: Shortlist
The first phase includes the candidates, short-listed for Interview round from among the candidates who have excellent profile for early interviews and the second phase includes the candidates shortlisted on the basis of their profile-cum-entrance exam score after declaration of entrance exam result for phase-2 interviews. These candidates must have applied to the programme and must satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme  

Step 4: Interview Round
After the Shortlisting process, group interviews are held in different cities to select the suitable students for the programme. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes profile, performance in entrance exam, performance in Interview round, work experience among others

Step 5: Final Admission Offer
Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in the last week of April/First week of May 2020 on the basis of Final Merit Score
