Telangana Government Permits BBA Exit Option & Lateral Entry in Integrated MBA: Issues G.O. on March 22, 2019
Government of Telangana State has issued G.O. Rt.No.20 dated 22.03.2019 granting permission for the Exit Option at 3rd Year in Integrated MBA for the award of BBA Degree and making Lateral Entry Admissions in Integrated MBA at vacant seats caused due to such exit options exercised by the students
If you are studying in a 5 year Integrated BBA+MBA programme at B-school in Telangana, it is upto you to exit after completing BBA or do your MBA as well, says the recently issued Telengana Government order.
The Students getting admission to 5 year integrated MBA in a B-school in Telangana State, need not compulsorily spend all the five years in the same college from which they are pursuing BBA+MBA leading to BBA degree after 3rd year and to MBA degree after 5th year, as now they can opt to exit after completing their BBA, the graduation course as a G.O. to this effect has been issued by Telangana Government on March 22, 2019.

The G.O. Rt.No.20 dated 22.03.2019 issued by Government of Telangana State permits the Exit Option at 3rd Year in Integrated MBA for the award of BBA Degree and making Lateral Entry Admissions in Integrated MBA, signed by the Secretary to the Government states, “In the circumstances stated by the Secretary, Telangana State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad…and after careful examination of the matter, the Government hereby issue order for exit options and making lateral admission s in the Integrated MBA Course.”
BBA Exit & Lateral Entry Options: Option Allowed As Per G.O.
According to the G.O. the Exit option at 3rd year in Integrated MBA for award of BBA Degree is as per AICTE norms and University Grants Commission Regulations. Following are the win-win situations which are allowed for the students and the institutions as per the order of Telangana Government:
- Sanctioning of Exit Option for award of BBA Degree for those who have successfully completed 3-years of study of the 5- year Integrated Programme
- Filling of vacant seats caused on account of such Exit option at the end of 3-years through Lateral Entry as per existing provisions of AICTE and UGC Regulations
- Permitting those students who satisfy the prescribed entry qualification for admission against vacant seats to study for 2-years MBA degree
Appreciating the Telangana Government Order, Mr. Shrinivas Acharya T, Secretary, Vishwa Vishwani School of Business, Hyderabad has termed it as a great relief to students who wish to take exit option for job or proceeding for job or higher education in premier institutions in India or abroad. In his view it is also advantageous to the Institutions for offering Integrated MBA by filling of vacant seats caused on account of such exit option at the end 3-years through lateral entry mode.
