5. IIT Kharagpur MBA Admission Process
The admission process for the MBA program at VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur, for the 2024-26 batch involves a two-step selection process.
I. Stage I - Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI):
Applicants are shortlisted for the online Personal Interview based on various criteria, including CAT 2023 scores, past academic performance, and other factors. Minimum CAT 2023 percentiles are specified for different categories. The shortlisting process considers the overall CAT 2023 scaled score, Application Rating (AR), and includes a Gender Diversity Factor (GDF) for female applicants. AR is based on academic performance, professional qualifications, and work experience. Work experience is rated according to specific guidelines, and professional qualifications include selected certifications.
II. Stage II - Final Selection and Offer of Admission:
The final selection is based on a cumulative score comprising Application Rating (AR), CAT 2023 performance, and online PI performance. Weightage is assigned to each component, with additional marks for the Gender Diversity Factor (GDF) for female applicants. The final offer of admission is made on merit in each category, and fulfilling the minimum qualifying criteria does not guarantee admission. The weightage given to different components is detailed, and VGSoM reserves the right to make changes in the shortlisting and selection criteria if deemed necessary.
How to Apply:
After taking the CAT 2023 examination, domestic candidates must complete an online application form available at the ERP portal of IIT Kharagpur. The application form must be completed in all respects, and a specified application fee must be paid. The last date for submission of the online application is February 12, 2024. The schedule for online PI is provided, and shortlisted candidates will be notified via email/ERP portal.
Declaration of Results for Final Admission
The final merit list, considering various criteria from Stage II, will be published on the ERP of the institute. Final offer letters for the first round of admissions will be released from May 1 to May 5, 2024.
