XAT Exam 2025 Registration Process Started from July 15; Fee Increased, Announces Aspirant Friendly Changes; Check Key Dates, Step by Step Process

Leaving behind IIM CAT 2024, XLRI has opened the XAT 2025 (Xavier Aptitude Test-2025) Registration process from July 15, 2024. Last year also XAT registration process opened from July 15. This is the second time in the history of Xavier Aptitude Test that XAT registration date has opened before the CAT registration.

This year XLRI has made some changes in XAT registration Fee and process. XLRI has marginally increased XAT 2025 registration fees but XLRI admission application fees is kept at the last year level. Besides, to make XAT registration process easier, XLRI has also announced some aspirant friendly changes in XAT 2025 registration process:

XAT 2025: Latest Updates with Key Changes

• XAT 2025 Registration Fee Increased to Rs.2200/- from Rs.2100 last year
• XLRI Admission Application Fee Not Increased and is Rs.200/- as was last year
• Candidates can choose Two Preferred Exam Cities to Appear in XAT 2025 Exam
• Candidates can fill the XAT Application Form in Multiple Attempts instead of Single Attempt

XAT Registration Dates: Key Trends
Prior to last year XAT exam, XLRI used to open the XAT registration in August 2^nd week. The CAT exam 2024 registration is expected to open in the first week of August 2024. Key trends in opening of XAT registrations during last 5 years are as given below:

XAT is one of the important MBA entrance exams leading to MBA admission in top MBA colleges including XLRI, XIMB, IMI, IMT, MICA, Great Lakes, GIM Goa among other B-schools. XAT exam registrations have gone up substantially in last few years. 1.35 lakh candidates had registered for XAT 2024 registering an increase of 40% over last year.

Early Opening of XAT 2025 Registration: A Better Move
The early opening of XAT 2025 registration process has positive implications especially for the XAT aspirants. Some of them are:

• XAT exam 2025 registration process will remain open for about 4 months instead of  3 months
• The longer XAT registration window will give more time to the XAT applicants to register at ease
• By early opening of registrations, XAT exam convener would like to spread more awareness about XAT exam especially in remote areas. As such the early opening of XAT registration process will help in achieving this goal.
• Many applicants are sometimes not allotted their first preferred XAT exam city and the early opening of XAT 2025 Registration may help the XAT conducting XLRI to arrange for the first preferred test city to the applicants. For example, in XAT 2025, all the ten Delhi NCR cities with a distance of more than 50 Kms are clubbed into one test city as Delhi NCR. An applicant can be allotted any of the ten exam cities. A longer registration window may help XLRI to process the applications in a better way and allot the XAT exam centre which is nearest to the candidate’s place.
