Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur is likely to conduct Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 20216 on Sunday, January 3, 2021. Since XAT is conducted on the first Sunday of January every year, XLRI wouldn’t like to break the legacy of 60 years in convening the XAT 2021 also. The registration for XAT 2021 would open in the last week of August, 2020.
XAT 2021 will be a computer based test. Its scores will be used by XLRI, all XAMI institutions and also by more than 100 other associated B-schools for MBA/PGDM admission 2021.

No Cancellation of XAT 2021 Exam
Given the Covid-19 pandemic situation, there is confusion whether XAT 2021 would be cancelled? However the recent verdict given by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in regard to conduct of Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2020 and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG-2020 has clarified that all the entrance exams should be conducted without fail on time and would not be deferred or cancelled as the careers can’t be put in jeopardy.
Accordingly, it is expected that XAT 2021 will not be cancelled nor its exam date will be postponed too long.
Eligibility to Apply for XAT 2021
The eligibility to appear in XAT is probably the simplest among all the National Level MBA entrance exams as XLRI has introduced unique eligibility criteria to apply for XAT 2021.

XAT 2021 Notification
XAT is conducted annually by XLRI Jamshedpur and is therefore known as XLRI-XAT. XLRI releases XAT Notification in the third week of August and immediately after the release of notification, registration process for XAT starts.
XAT 2021: Changes in Exam Pattern
XAT 2021 will be divided in 4 sections comprising MCQ type questions on Quantitative Ability; English Language & Logical reasoning; Decision Making and General Awareness (GK). Following changes have been introduced in XAT exam pattern by XLRI:
- XAT is now changed to a computer based test from paper based test
- XAT 2021 remains a Single slot, single day exam
- 3 hours duration exam from 9.30AM to 12.30PM
- Total questions are 100
- No Essay Writing Test in XAT 2021
- Few Questions without negative marking introduced
- All questions are of MCQ type
- GK questions not counted for percentile calculation
- ¼ Negative Marking for wrong answer
- Visually impaired candidates with scribe are given additional 25 minutes to solve Part 1 of the exam
- Marks for every correct answer : 1
- No Negative marking for General Knowledge section in part-2
