While there is a lot of speculation on the total number of candidates who have registered for CAT 2024, here is a confirmed breaking news! Although it is early days, the registrations for Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2025, the second largest MBA entrance exam in India, are showing a positive trend. In an exclusive interaction with MBAUniverse.com, XAT Convenor Dr Rahul Shukla reveals early trends.

Conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur, XAT is the oldest MBA/PGDM entrance exam in the country with a history of more than seven decades! XAT scores are accepted leading B-schools including XIM Bhubaneswar, IMI New Delhi and others. XAT 2025 will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Registration process is currently open.

XAT 2024 Registration Numbers Broke All Records 

It must be noted that last year XAT 2024 registrations broke all records by registering an increase of almost 40 percent! XAT 2024 registrations went up to 135,000, from 98,242 registrations in XAT 2023. Check Table below.

“XAT 2025 Registrations are on an upward trend,” XAT Convenor Dr Rahul Shukla
While it is early days, Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2025 registrations are showing “an upward trend.” In an exclusive interaction with MBAUniverse.com, XAT Convenor Dr Rahul Shukla has confirmed this development. XAT 2025 Registrations opened on July 15, and will be closed on November 30, 2024. Generally, XAT registrations pick up after the CAT registrations are closed.

“The registration for the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) opened on July 15, and we are pleased to observe an upward trend in the number of registrations compared to previous years,” Dr Shukla told MBAUniverse.com. 

While Dr Shukla didn’t reveal the exact numbers, he said: “So far, the registration numbers have been encouraging, indicating increased interest from candidates across diverse academic backgrounds and regions.”

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is the second largest MBA entrance exam and is the mandatory entrance exam for admission to XLRI Jamshedpur and Delhi NCR campus. Apart from XLRI, XAT scores are accepted by 200+ MBA colleges. For more than 72 years XLRI is conducting XAT exam at all India level to select the most appropriate students for management education.
