XLRI Revamps Admission Process for 15 Month General Management Program; To admit next batch in April, 2023

XLRI Jamshedpur, one of the highly ranked and internationally accredited B-school by AACSB, has revamped its admission process for PGDM GM  15 Months MBA Program. The application for the PGDM-GM 2023-24 batch is open and the last date to apply is November 30, 2022.

3. XLRI PGDM GM Admission 2023: Key Changes in Selection Process
XLRI has announced following changes in its 1 year PGDM GM admission process 2023

3.1 XAT 2023 Exam Schedule Changed: XLRI is conducting XAT 2023 in a single session as a computer based test on January 8, 2023 in 80+ cities in India. Traditionally, XAT exam was held in the morning hours. XLRI has decided to make changes in exam timings. XAT 2023 exam timing stands changed from morning to afternoon. The XAT 2023 will be conducted from 2.00 PM to 5.10 PM instead of 9.30 AM to 12.40 PM, although the XAT 2023 exam duration of 3 hours 10 minutes remains the same.   

Sharing the rationale behind this change, Dr Vishwa Ballabh, XLRI Admission Chair and XAT 2023 Exam Convener told MBAUniverse.com, “This demand has been long overdue and XAT Management has agreed to shift the examination. XLRI received feedback from the past XAT candidates, particularly from the North Indian states, about the difficulty in reaching examination centres at 8:30 AM, which is required for taking the exam in morning.” He further added, “Taking student feedback into account, we have decided to shift the XAT 2023 examination to 2 PM on January 08, 2023. The gate entry time for the candidates will be 1 PM and the exam will start from 2 PM and end at 5.10 PM.”

Indeed, as MBA aspirants travel from various parts of the country to take management exams, a more convenient afternoon XAT exam timing will be more helpful to them.

3.2 XLRI to Conduct Two PI Rounds for PGDM GM Admission 2023: So far, XLRI used to conduct a regular PI round after declaration of XAT exam result in January/February. 

For the first time, XLRI will be conducting Two Rounds of Personal Interview (PI) for Admission 2023. Sharing this development with MBAUniverse.com, Dr Vishwa Ballabh said, “Yes, we are considering to conduct the interview in two rounds.”

The First Personal Interview Round for XLRI PGDM GM admission 2023 will be conducted in November/December 2022 before holding XAT 2023 exam. While Second Personal Interview Round will be conducted in January/February 2023. Confirming the same, Dr Ballabh added, “Round 1 will be conducted in the last week of November and first week of December. Round 2 will be conducted in the last week of January and first week of February.”

This is a progressive step as two rounds of interviews will give opportunity to more candidates to be part of the XLRI selection process. A few top B-schools like SPJIMR already conduct two rounds of interviews for exceptionally talented candidates.

3.3 XLRI reduces Application Fees for Admission 2023: XLRI admission 2023 is a two tier process. The candidates, seeking PGDM GM admission 2023 through XAT 2023, should apply for XAT 2023 and also has to apply for XLRI admission through a Common Application Form. Apart from paying the XAT registration fees, applicants need to pay program wise XLRI admission fee as well. In order to provide relief to the applicants, XLRI has reduced its admission application fees by Rs. 100 per program. Now the XLRI admission 2023 application fee has been reduced from Rs. 300 to Rs. 200 per program.  

4. XLRI PGDM GM Admission 2023: Important Dates
The first step to participate in XLRI 2023 Admission process is to apply and appear in acceptable entrance exams. According to Dr Vishwa Ballabh, “XAT 2023, GMAT /GRE scores are accepted” for XLRI PGDM GM admission 2023. You also need to apply simultaneously for XLRI PGDM GM Admission 2023. XLRI Jamshedpur PGDM GM seats are 120. Confirming the XLRI PGDM GM program intake, Dr Ballabh said, “There are 120 seats. Currently we are having 114 candidates in 2021-22 batch.”

Step-1: Register for XAT 2023 to Get User ID & PW & Verify on Your Mail
You need to register yourself on xatonline.in with some basic details like your name, email id, phone number. The next action points which you need to do are:

Step 1.1

• You will get a message from XLRI XAT on your mail id
• Open your mail box and verify the link
• Immediately after the verification you will get XAT Id and password

Step 1.2
Now, you have two options to fill your XAT application: Either login to XAT application page directly from the verification link on your mail; or login later with your XAT 2023 ID and password to fill your XAT application form

Step-2: Complete Personal Details & Address in XAT Registration Form 2023
This information is divided into three parts – your personal details, your parents’ details and your address.

Step 2.1: Personal Details
The first page of XAT 2023 Registration and application form requires you to fill all your personal details like complete name, date of birth, gender, email id, alternate email id, mobile number, alternate mobile number, age, nationality, blood group among others.
