Program Highlight

The two-year Post-graduate Programme in Management (PGP) at IIM Indore is a full-time residential course for graduates from all disciplines who wish to choose a career in management. The PGP Programme at IIM Indore is highly ranked one. With the enactment of “The Indian Institutes of Management Act, 2017” on January 24, 2017, IIM Indore is now empowered with the legal authority to award MBA degrees. The programme is also recognized by the Association of Indian Universities and is considered now an M.B.A. Degree programme.

In the second year of PGP, electives give participants a deeper understanding of different functional areas and enable them to specialize in areas of their choice. The participants are encouraged to select courses in specific domains such as Analytics, Ecom./IT/ITES, BFS, FMCG, Insurance and Infrastructure. The emphasis is on the application of knowledge gained, in the form of projects, group exercises and case discussions. Guest lectures and workshops further enrich their learning.

IIM Indore offers wide range of specializations to choose from the nine management areas viz. Economics, Finance & Accounting, Information systems, Marketing, Organization behavior & Human Resources, Operation management & Quantitative Techniques, Strategy, Communications, Humanities & Social Sciences.

Curriculum Highlights

The Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management at IIM Indore aims to groom participants into competent professional managers with a capacity to learn and adapt to national and international environment. In the first year, students are offered core courses in management. Skill Development Courses including Communication, Leadership, Spreadsheet Modeling, Entrepreneurial Orientation, Innovation and Design Thinking and Sustainability are taught in a workshop-based format 

Students visit a company once a week in the first year of the Programme. They are required to carry out a study on various industries and key players in the industry. IIM Indore students participate in a wide range of extra and co-curricular activities which include IRIS (The Annual Management & Cultural Festival) and Utsaha (Rural Marketing Fair). Rural immersion programme is conducted to enable the participants to understand the social context in which organizations work and exist. 

In the second year, new curriculum features a large number of domain concentrations which consist of both regular courses taught by industry faculty and workshop courses taught by industry practitioners. The Programme has a unique matrix based structure wherein participants take 10% credits in ‘Industry Vertical Courses’ and 10% credits in ‘Functional Area Courses’ in addition to the general management credits.  

IIM Indore conducts Himalaya outbound programme for PGP-II students to motivate them to perform in an unfamiliar ambience and work as a team. IIM Indore has exchange tie-ups with several prestigious international business schools. A large number of students visit these business schools and complete one semester there 

An initiative to blend theory and practice is the hiring of professors of practice, which allows industry professionals with 15-20 years of experience to become a part of the IIM Indore full-time faculty. IIM Indore offers participant-centered approach to management education.

Eligibility Criteria

  • IIM Indore Eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. 
  • The candidate should appear in CAT exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to be considered for shortlisting. 
  • Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for Admission.

Admission Process

Application Status: Open

Application process for admission at IIM Indore opens with the start of CAT  registration process. Candidates have to apply for CAT by the last date. There is no need to apply and pay separately for IIM Indore Admission

Admission/Selection Process for Candidates for MBA at IIM Indore is through CAT. The selection of the candidates for admission to the PGP at IIM Indore is a two-step process.

In the first step, candidates are short-listed for Personal Interview (PI) round from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme. Detailed Admission process is as below:

  • The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required percentile in CAT. Candidates are short-listed for PI round which is conducted in many cities  
  • Candidates are shortlisted from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme  
  • After the PI round, IIM Indore will award weightages to various parameters and admission offers are made by IIM Indore to successful candidates. 
  • The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in PI round, academics, diversity, work experience among others
  • Admission offer letter would be sent to all successful candidates. Candidates, who are offered admission, need to confirm their acceptance by completing all the required formalities by the stipulated date.

How to Apply

Register and apply for CAT exam by paying the requisite application fee for the exam. On the page 4 of CAT application form, you need to select IIM Indore MBA and other programs and select the interview city. Your application for IIM Indore admission is submitted. You do not need to apply and pay separately for IIM Indore Admission. After declaration of CAT exam result, you can check at IIM Indore website whether you are shortlisted by entering your CAT registration ID and password
