1. What is MAH MBA CET CAP Round? Key Highlights

What is MAH MBA CET CAP Round 2025? MAH MBA CET CAP 2025 is final selection process for MBA Admission 2025 in 330+ MBA colleges in Maharashtra including JBIMS, PUMBA, SIMSREE among others. Also known as DTE CAP 2025, key highlights of MAH MBA CET CAP round are: 

  • Counselling Round for MBA Admission: CAP 2025 is the MAH MBA CET Counselling 2025 round which starts after declaration of MAH CET result. The MBA CAP Round 2025 is the final selection process for MBA/MMS admission 2025 in Maharashtra B-Schools. 
  • Conducted by DTE Maharashtra in June/July: CAP 2025 for MBA/MMS Admission 2025 will be conducted by Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra in June/July 2025 
  • Fresh Registration Required for MAH MBA CET Counselling 2025: MAH MBA CET CAP for MBA 2025 starts with fresh registration after MAH CET result is declared. The process is followed by document verification after which merit list is announced with seat Matrix. 
  • Mandatory to Apply for Participation in CAP: The candidates seeking admission in MBA/MMS 2025-27 courses must register and apply for MBA CAP Round 2025 by making the payment of prescribed application and participation fee else they will not be considered for admission.

3. MAH MBA CET CAP 2025 Eligibility Criteria

MBA CET CAP Eligibility Criteria as prescribed overall by CET cell is different for Maharashtra State (MS) category candidates, All India category or Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) category candidates (including Jammu & Kashmir Migrant candidates) and NRI / OCI / PIO Foreign National, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries. While the details of category wise DTE CAP eligibility criteria are given below, the broad difference is that Maharashtra State candidates must have taken MAH MBA CET 2025 while other category candidates can register for MAH MBA CET CAP 2025 based on scores of MAH CET 2025; CAT 2024, CMAT 2025 and other All India MBA entrance tests. The category wise MBA CET CAP Eligibility Criteria 2025 is shared below:

3.1 Category Wise MAH MBA CET CAP Eligibility Criteria 2025

Eligibility Criteria for All India Category; Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir; Union Territory of Ladakh Migrant Candidates
Eligibility Criteria for NRI/ OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National
(i)The Candidate should be an Indian National; (ii) Passed minimum three year duration Bachelor’s Degree awarded by any of the Universities recognized by UGC or AIU in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories, Economically weaker section and Persons With Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) (iii)The candidate should have obtained non zero positive score in CET conducted by the Competent Authority (MAHMBA/MMS-CET 2025).
 
(i)The Candidate should be an Indian National; (ii) Passed minimum Three year duration Bachelor’s Degree awarded by the University recognised by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (at least 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories, Economically weaker section and Persons With Disability Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) or its equivalent; (iii)The candidate should have obtained non zero positive score in any one of the following examinations. - CET (MAH MBA CET) conducted by the Competent Authority or Common Admission Test conducted by Indian Institute of Management (CAT) or Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted by NTA; or Xavier Aptitude Test conducted by Xavier School of Management Jamshedpur (XAT) or Entrance Test for Management Admissions conducted by the Association of Indian Management Schools (ATMA) or Management Aptitude Test Conducted by All India Management Association (MAT) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test Conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council, United States of America (GMAT).
(i) Passed minimum Three year duration Bachelor’s Degree awarded by the University recognised by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or its equivalent. (ii) Any other criterion declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined under the Act..

4. How to register for MAH MBA CET CAP 2025? Step by Step Process

Step by Step MAH MBA CET CAP Registration Process 2025 is given below:

  • You should apply online on www.mahacet.org as per schedule when the CAP 2025  registration process opens 
  • Ensure to register for CAP 2025 by the last date otherwise your candidature will not be considered
  • You are required to complete CAP 2025 Registration online, fill & submit online application form and upload the required documents through the computer connected to internet
  • Choose convenient Online or Offline document verification mode when applying for CAP 2025
  • You need not visit personally for verification and confirmation of the application form in case of E-Scrutiny mode selected
  • Your application & documents shall be verified and confirmed by the designated E-Scrutiny Center through online mode or if you select Physical Scrutiny, you need to visit nearest Physical Scrutiny Centre

5. MAH MBA CET CAP Round 2025: Step by Step Guide

Following steps need to be taken to register & Apply and participate in Centralized Admission Process for MBA admission 2025 in Maharashtra B-schools through CAP round
Step-1: Check your Eligibility as per your category to participate in MBA CAP Round 2025
Step-2: Register for MAH CET MBA CAP 2025. Register & Apply for CAP 2025 online at DTE ‘SAAR’ portal.  
Step-3: Get your Documents Verified Online/Offline for MBA CET CAP Round 2025 
Step-4: Participate in MBA CAP Round 2025 and check your allotted B-school
Step-5: Get Admission Offer and report to the B-school
Step-6: If not satisfied with the admission offer, you can opt for the next CAP round ( if eligible)

7. MBA CET CAP 2025 Registration Fees Exemption

Candidates who have registered for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2025 are not required to pay any Registration Fees for MAH MBA CET CAP Round. However other candidates who have obtained score which is valid for admission in academic year 2025 through CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT and have not registered for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2025 are required to pay fees as above. The Fee is to be paid only by Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/ UPI etc. through Online mode. Please note that the Fees paid is non-refundable and No other mode of payment shall be permitted. 

8. MAH MBA CET CAP Document Verification Process

The CET Cell of Directorate of Technical Education Maharashtra will also announce dates for document verification for participation in MBA CET CAP Round 2025. This can be done online. 

For the purpose of document verification, the concept of E-Scrutiny of the documents and Physical Scrutiny of the documents is introduced by the Competent Authority. You can choose any one mode for document verification during online form filling.

CET Cell will also announce a list of about 300+ 'Setu Suvidha Kendra' (Facilitation Centres) where document verification process after online registration is conducted. 

9. E-Scrutiny Process of CAP Application Form

During the E scrutiny process of CAP 2025 Application Form, there may be errors or it may be error free. Undernoted process will be followed by CET cell in case of either of the two situations:
If no error is found, the status of verification & confirmation of the application form shall be sent to the candidate. The candidate will have to check for the receipt cum Acknowledgement at the website through his/her Login credentials

If error is found, the details of errors shall be intimated to candidates by reverting back to him/her Application for its rectification. The Candidate shall edit the reverted application form in given schedule and re-submit the application for E-Scrutiny through his/her login. 

NRI/PIO/OCI/CIWGC/FN candidates should send the print of online filled & submitted application form & copy of uploaded documents by hand/speed post/courier for verification & confirmation to “Director, Sydenham Institute of Management Studies & Research & Entrepreneurship Education(SIMSREE), B-Road, Churchgate, Mumbai 400020”

10. MAH CET MBA CAP 2025 Cutoff

The highest score awarded in MAH CET 2025 is 99.99 percentile. JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA have cut offs between 99 to 99.95 percentile. No candidate scores 100 percentile in MAH MBA CET exam. The cut offs for final selection and allotment of seat in top MBA college through CAP for MBA 2025 admission are expected to remain low since the top score in MAH MBA CET does not go very high. 

11. MAH MBA CET CAP 2025: Final Selection Process for MBA/MMS admission 2025

There are minimum three CAP rounds. After each of the three CAP rounds, category wise merit list will be generated with cut offs and the candidates will be allotted designated B-school as per their merit position. Within a day or two these candidates will have to report to the allotted B-schools and accept the admission offer. However, facility is provided by CET Cell to participate in further CAP rounds also to explore admission chances in a better college.  

12. MAH MBA CET 2025 CAP Round: Important instructions

For MBA/MMS admission seekers through CAP 2025, following instructions are issued by CET Cell 

  • The List of the institutes identified as Admission Reporting Centers (ARC) is available on the website. The candidate can report to any nearest ARC.
  • Once the candidate confirms his/her Option form online through his/her Login for the respective admission rounds, he/she will not be allowed to change/cancel the option/preference submitted under any circumstances.
  • A Candidate who has been allotted a seat shall download the “Provisional Seat Allotment Letter”
  • The Seat Acceptance Fee is Rs. 5,000/- for Candidates of General Category, VJ/DT, NT, SBC/OBC Category and Rs. 1,000/- for SC, ST Category Candidates.
  • The candidate has to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee during first reporting only. This fee shall be transferred to the institution after deducting Rs. 1,000/- towards processing fee.
  • The Seat Acceptance fees is to be paid at ARC through ONLINE MODE only.
  • Allotted Seat will be cancelled if, at any time, any of the documents or certificates is found to be invalid or fraudulent and/or the Candidate does not meet the eligibility norms.
  • Candidates who want to reject the allocated seat can do so by not remitting the seat acceptance fee at the Reporting Centre in scheduled period
  • For cancellation of admission before reporting to the institution, the candidate shall apply to the Admission Reporting Center to which he has paid Seat Acceptance Fee
  • Candidate can avail the facilities for filling & confirmation of online option/preference form free of cost at Facilitation Centre (FC).
  • All ARC’s remain open on all days including holidays and Sundays for confirmation of admission during the schedule.

13. MBA Admission Availability for All India candidates on CAP Vacant Seats

While a major chunk of seats to the tune of 65% to 85% reserved for Maharashtra state candidates and minority category, there are 15% to 35% seats which are offered to All India category candidates. This number increases in case of non reporting by MAH State category candidates and the vacant seats are offered to All India category candidates.
 
Since not all the MBA admissions in Maharashtra B-schools may be finalised through CAP round, there would be many vacant seats in MBA colleges. CET Cell Maharashtra clarifies ‘The seats remaining vacant after offering admissions to the candidates through CAP due to non reporting and cancellation after CAP Round-III will be filled in by the managements of the respective institutes. Admission authorities of the respective institutes will have to process these admissions strictly as per the CET guidelines.’

14. MBA Admission Chances for All India Category Candidates: If not taken MAH-CET

•Candidates who have not registered for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2025 but have obtained valid score in CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT can participate in CAP round 2025 by paying CAP registration fees of Rs.1200. 
•The candidates who have registered for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2025 are not required to pay any fees for CAP registration. 
•In all top MBA colleges like JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA minimum 15% seats are reserved for All India category candidates. 
•There are about 10,000 seats available for MBA Admission 2025 for Outside Maharashtra candidates.

The MBA seats are available in all the B-schools for All India Category candidates. If your name appeared in the Final Merit List published by the DTE for Online Submission & Confirmation of Option Form for admissions to MBA/MMS 2025-27 batch in the Government, Government Aided, University Managed Institutes, University Managed Departments and Unaided private professional educational institutes, you should check your option and grab the opportunity after reading carefully the Rules/Regulations & Information.
 
To summarise, the registration for MAH MBA CET CAP 2025 is the first step to seek MBA admission 2025 in 330+ MBA Colleges in Maharashtra. After successful registration, CET Cell will complete the online document verification and will release the provisional merit list for MBA CET CAP Round. The CAP round 2025 will start after closure of last date of CAP registration. There will be minimum three rounds of CAP and after each round, selected candidates will be allotted one or other MBA college. To finalize MBA admission, the candidates have to report at the allotted MBA colleges within two days.
