IIM Nagpur has concluded the final Placement 2024 for its 8th largest batch of 255 students enrolled in its flagship MBA 2022-24 programme before organizing the Convocation for the batch. While IIM Nagpur witnessed a marginal dip of 2.69% in overall average salary in Placement 2024, the institute saw more than 3% increase in average salary for top 50% batch. Although the overall average salary is down at Rs.16.29 LPA from Rs.16.74 LPA last year, it is still the highest average salary registered in placement 2024 by any of the seven third generation IIMs. Besides, the average salary for top 50% students has gone up at Rs.19.49 LPA from Rs.18.91 LPA last year.
The placements were conducted through a combination of virtual and offline modes, reflecting the adaptability of both students and recruiters. Diverse array of recruiters participated in IIM Nagpur placement 2024 from sectors such as Consulting, BFSI, ITES, Manufacturing, FMCG/FMCD, Conglomerates among others. Notable recruiters included BNY Mellon, Aditya Birla Capital, ICICI Bank, Adani, Vedanta, Deloitte, Nucleus Software among others.
Speaking on successful completion of Placement 2024, Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director IIM Nagpur, said, "The student's performance in the placement process is a testament to the intellectual capital, new-generation courses, learning ecosystem, strong industry relationships, and connectivity to the corporate world available to the students. The confluence of all these factors makes our institute the most favoured choice for students and corporates."
In a scenario when most B-schools are facing adverse impact of Economic Slowdown in their placements, IIM Nagpur too has been affected by this phenomenon with a dip in its Average, and Highest salary for the 2022-24 batch. IIM Nagpur has started conferring MBA degree instead of diploma after implementation of IIM Act 2017 which empowered the IIMs to award MBA degree.
IIM Nagpur Placements 2024 Vs Other 3rd Generation IIMs Placements 2024
Out of the third generation 7 IIMs which started operation in 2015-2016, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Nagpur, IIM Sambalpur and IIM Visakhapatnam are the five IIMs who have completed placements for 2022-24 batch. All the five of them have registered dip in average salary which is more for IIM Sambalpur at 14% and for IIM Bodh Gaya at 13% than for IIM Nagpur at 2.7%; IIM Jammu, IIM Nagpur and IIM Visakhapatnam at 6%. However, IIM Nagpur has registered highest average salary at Rs.16.29 LPA among all the third generation IIMs, despite a dip in average salary. IIM Nagpur Operating From its New Campus
IIM Nagpur shifted to its new 132-acre spacious green campus, situated at MIHAN, Nagpur, Maharashtra, in November 2021. The state-of-the-art campus is well equipped with all modern gadgets and facilities. The new campus is designed to cater to 600 students. The campus has been designed to minimise the environmental footprint while facilitating learning both inside and outside the classroom. IIM Nagpur new campus includes a state-of-the-art academic complex, library, administrative block, student hostels, sports complex, and residential quarters. The campus also houses a Management Development Centre for the institute’s Executive Education Programmes (EEP) and IIM Nagpur’s entrepreneurship incubation centre, InFED, in addition to allied infrastructure.
Mentored by IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Nagpur started functioning with the launch of its1st PGP batch in 2015 with a sanctioned intake of 60 students. For the 8th MBA 2022-24 batch, IIM Nagpur has increased intake to 255 students. The MBA seats at IIM Nagpur have further increased for 2024-26 batch to 280 students. IIM Nagpur offers 2 year full time residential PGP program leading to MBA degree; Executive MBA at Nagpur campus and Executive MBA at its Pune campus. IIM Nagpur also offers Doctoral PhD programs in Management. IIM Nagpur PGP admission is through CAT exam score. The PI round is through Common Admission Process (CAP) conducted for new IIMs. After passing of IIM Bill 2017, the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management at IIM Nagpur now leads to award of MBA degree instead of diploma.
