XIMB is led by its dean Prof Biswa Swarup Misra. A PhD in Economics and CAIIB, he is Professor of Economics at XIMB. Prof Misra has been a Member of ‘Expert Group for Development of a Methodology for Computation of an Index for Infrastructure Development at the all India level and for States’, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India (2013), he was Member of ‘Working Group to Study Interest Subvention’, Government of Orissa (2013 and 2014), Member of ‘Working Group on Public Sector’s Draft of Private Savings’, Planning Commission, Government of India for the 12th Five Year Plan (2011) and was Member of the Expert Committee for implementation of Chief Minister's Award for Excellence and Innovation in Government and Public Service Delivery (2014 and 2015).

XIMB faculty members are not only qualified in terms of their specialization in various fields but many of them have diverse industry backgrounds as part of their professional experience apart from academics. XIMB faculty are well recognized for their consultancy in large number of private sector organizations, Public Sector Undertakings, Central and state governments.
