Founded by Late Prof. Bala V. Balachandran (05 July 1937 - 27 September 2021), J. L. Kellogg Distinguished Professor of Accounting and Information Management, Northwestern University, Illinois, USA; Executive Professor and Strategy Advisor to the Dean, Bauer College, University of Houston, Texas, USA; Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai is led by its Dean and Pricipal, Dr Suresh Ramanathan. Prior to joining Great Lakes, Dr Suresh was an Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business between 2002-2011, and later, Professor of Marketing for close to 8 years at the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, holding the David R. Norcom’73 Endowed Professorship. Before joining the world of academia in 1997, he had spent ten years in industry in India. Dr Suresh received his Ph.D. from NYU’s Stern School of Business in 2002 and is a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the IIT, Delhi and an MBA from the IIM Calcutta.
