Program Highlight

IIM Jammu offers 2 year full time MBA in Hospital Administration & Health Care Management. The courses on MBA HA & HM Management are offered in collaboration of  AIIMS Jammu and IIT Jammu. While AIIMS Jammu will offer courses on Hospital Administration and Health Care, IIT Jammu will offer courses Technology and IIM Jammu will offer courses on Management. The program offers a unique advantage of learning the basics of management and operations from Indian Institute of Management Jammu, technological aspects from Indian Institute of Technology Jammu and gain subsequent practical, hands-on experience in management of hospitals and health care services at AIIMS Jammu under the guidance and supervision of hospital administrators. The program is a two-year full-time residential program with the first year having core courses and second year elective courses.

Curriculum Highlights

The two years of the MBA (HA & HM) program is divided into six terms, each year consisting of three terms. The first year has core courses and a Summer Internship Program. The second year has elective courses and two Course of Independent Study. The Program structure of MBA (HA & HM) entails every student to compulsory complete 64.5 core course credits in the first year; 3.0 credits from the 8-10-week long ‘Summer Internship Program (SIP)’ at the end of Term III with a company or an organization from healthcare industry; 6.0 credits from two ‘Course of Independent Study (CIS)’ in the second year: one in a hospital and the other in a healthcare organization; 42.0 course credits through the choice of his/her electives in the second year.

Additionally, students are permitted to Audit Courses (Maximum of 3 courses in the second year) by paying the requisite additional fees; International Student Exchange Program: Merit Based in the second year and National and International Live Projects. Every student has to undergo a mandatory non-credit course on "Happiness" in the first year of the MBA (HA & HM) program. Every student need to compulsorily complete a week-long Bharat Immersion Programme Internship as a partial requirement of the CSR course. Summer Internship Project of 8 to 10 weeks with a company or an organization from healthcare industry must be completed. It has 3.0 credit units assigned to it.

A student must take 42.0 credits from elective courses offered during the second year and 6.0 credits from two Course of Independent Study (CIS). Students need to take 14 elective courses in the second year provided all elective courses carry 3.0 credit units. The requirements of number of electives can increase or decrease depending on the credit units of chosen electives. Two CIS - one in Term IV with a hospital and the other in Term V with a healthcare organization should be completed. Each CIS has 3.0 credit units assigned to it. International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) is also offered on Merit Basis

Eligibility Criteria

  • IIM Jammu 2 years full time MBA Eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. 
  • The candidate should appear in CAT exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to be considered for shortlisting. 
  • Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for Admission

Admission Process

Application Status: Closed

Application process for admission at IIM Jammu opens with the start of CAT  registration process. Candidates have to apply for CAT by the last date. There is no need to apply and pay separately for IIM Jammu Admission at this stage.

Admission/Selection Process for Candidates for MBA program at IIM Jammu is through CAT Exam and IIM CAP PI round. The selection of the candidates for admission to the MBA at IIM Jammu is a three-step process- Pre shortlisting, Shortlisting, and participation in IIM CAP PI round or IIM Jammu SAP round

In the first step, candidates are screened as per the IIM Jammu admission policy on performance in CAT exam and in the second step they are considered on various parameters for shortlisting for Common Admission Process (CAP) comprising Personal Interview (PI) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme. After the PI round, IIM Jammu prepares merit list for final admission as per its final selection weightages. Detailed Admission process is as below:

  • The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required percentile in CAT. Candidates are short-listed for CAP round which is the common PI round for 10 CAP participating IIMs. Candidates Not qualifying for CAP round are given the opportunity to register for SAP (Supplementary Admission Process) which is also PI round for IIM Jammu and get shortlisted at reduced CAT score.  
  • Candidates are shortlisted from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and have their interest and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme   
  • In addition to the Common Admission Process, IIM Jammu will conduct an additional Supplementary Admission Process (SAP) for candidates who meet IIM Jammu PI shortlisting criteria but do not meet the CAP cut off criteria. Supplementary Admission Process (SAP) is conducted by IIM Jammu and two other CAP participating third generation IIMs for the candidates who have not been shortlisted and have not been able to participate in Common Admission Process (CAP). The shortlisting criteria for SAP have a lower CAT cut off (91%ile in 2024) than applied for CAP round (94%ile in 2024) .
  • After the PI round, IIM Jammu will award weightages to various parameters and admission offers are made by IIM Jammu to successful candidates. 
  • The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in CAP round, academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience among others

Admission offer letter would be sent to all successful candidates. Candidates, who are offered admission, need to confirm their acceptance by completing all the required formalities by the stipulated date

How to Apply

Register and apply for CAT exam by paying the requisite application fee for the exam. On the page 4 of CAT application form, you need to select IIM Jammu PGP (MBA) and other programs and select the interview city. Your application for IIM Jammu admission is submitted. At this stage, you do not need to apply and pay separately for IIM Jammu Admission. After declaration of CAT exam result, you can check at IIM Jammu as well as IIM CAP website whether you are shortlisted by entering your CAT registration ID and password. You may need to register at IIM Jammu website to reconfirm your interest for IIM Jammu admission.
