The two year online Postgraduate Diploma in Management (Finance) is a masters level two year program that prepares students to advance their career in a rapidly changing world of finance. Course plan includes foundation and advanced level courses in finance, summer internship, workshops sessions from industry thought leaders, Capstone Project and simulations-based trading and valuation modules. This programme is now affiliated to CFA University. Enrolled students are not eligible to avail CFA and GARP (FRM) scholarships.
The program facilitates the learning and application of concepts, techniques, and practices in the management in addition to exposing the student to different functional areas of management to enhance the effectiveness. Being a specialized program in itself, there are no separate areas for concentration. The XLRI-XOL PGDM (Finance) program is delivered online with three one week campus immersion modules during term I at start, term III and term V. The PGDM Finance Online course plan involves 714 hours of Scheduled Teaching Hours spread across core and elective courses. Total designed program content for the XLRI-XOL PGDM (Finance) program is for 1240 hours consisting of Scheduled Teaching Hours, Flexible Interactive Sessions, Industry Interface and Career Development Initiatives and Tutorial delivered on need basis. According to AICTE norms, selected students are expected to invest additional 1160 hours as Indicative Self Learning Hours in the form of pre-readings, assignments & individual reflections, individual exercises, e-texts, self-assessment etc. across all courses depending on personal strengths and weaknesses.
Online sessions are held on both weekends from 6:30 PM to 9:45 PM and on Thursdays 7:00 PM to 10:15 PM (two 1-hour 30 minutes session with 15 minutes gap in between). Depending on institute holidays and unavoidable circumstances some sessions may be scheduled on other days of the week from 7:00 PM to 10:15 PM.
Examinations may be conducted on Sundays from 3 PM to 6 PM and Tuesdays from 7 PM to 10 PM. If there is no examination scheduled, students can use these slots for working on group assignments/projects and other group activities.
