Application process for admission at IIM Sambalpur opens with the start of CAT  registration process. Candidates have to apply for CAT by the last date. There is no need to apply and pay separately for IIM Sambalpur Admission at this stage.

Admission/Selection Process for Candidates for MBA program at IIM Sambalpur is through CAT Exam and IIM CAP PI round. The selection of the candidates for admission to the MBA at IIM Sambalpur is a three-step process- Pre shortlisting, Shortlisting, and participation in IIM CAP PI round

In the first step, candidates are screened as per the IIM Sambalpur admission policy on performance in CAT exam and in the second step they are considered on various parameters for shortlisting for Common Admission Process (CAP) comprising Personal Interview (PI) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme. After the PI round, IIM Sambalpur prepares merit list for final admission as per its final selection weightages. Detailed Admission process is as below:

• The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required percentile in CAT. Candidates are short-listed for CAP round which is the common PI round for 10 CAP participating IIMs. 
• Candidates are shortlisted from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and have their interest and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme. The CAT cut off for PI round in IIM CAP was 94 percentile last year. 
• After the PI round, IIM Sambalpur will award weightages to various parameters and admission offers are made by IIM Sambalpur to successful candidates. 
• The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in CAP round, academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience among others

Admission offer letter would be sent to all successful candidates. Candidates, who are offered admission, need to confirm their acceptance by completing all the required formalities by the stipulated date

Step by Step process for IIM Sambalpur Executive MBA Admission is shared below: 

• Apply Online after checking your eligibility at IIM Sambalpur admission website with application fee of Rs.1000
• Candidates fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria shall be called for the PI process. 
• Candidates shall be required to submit a “No Objection Certificate”/ “Consent letter” for pursuing the Executive MBA at IIM Sambalpur from his or her employer
• Industry Sponsored candidates are also allowed admission in the Executive MBA Program of IIM Sambalpur. A Sponsored candidate must have been in service of the sponsoring organization for at least two years at the time of admission. The selection of candidates under this category will be primarily based on personal interview. The candidates will be required to submit a letter from the sponsoring company. 
• The candidate should submit a SOP not exceeding 2000 words and should include talk about career path, interests, professional contributions, goals and the driving force behind pursuing ExeMBA
• Upon being shortlisted, the candidate shall appear for a personal interview in front of the Expert panel. The selection panel will assess the suitability of the candidates based on their managerial acumen and entrepreneurial mindset. Candidate will be especially assessed based on Statement of Purpose (SOP) apart from academic record, professional accomplishments, etc.
• Merit List will be prepared based on Personal Interview, Academic Qualification, Relevant Work Experience and Statement of Purpose (SOP)
• The total program fee for Executive MBA is Rs. 12,00,000/- which includes tuition Fees, Virtual Library Access (such as cost of materials/cases/library materials/ Databases/ Archive etc.) and Campus Immersion (IIM Sambalpur campus only).

Eligible candidates should apply ONLINE for admission to Ph.D. Programme with application fees of Rs.1180. No hard copy/mail copy of the application is accepted.

IIM Sambalpur PhD Admission process has following key steps:

• Submit Application: Check Eligibility and Submit Application Online with requisite application fees of Rs.1180
• Submit SoP: Along with the application, the candidate should submit a SOP not exceeding 2000 words and should include a title, research motivation, possible research approaches, and references.
• Entrance Test: Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria must have taken CAT in last three years; Or GRE/GATE/GMAT/JRF (UGC/CSIR) taken during the last two years; Or Valid Research Aptitude Test Score (IIMSAT) conducted by IIM Sambalpur
• Exemption from Entrance Test: Candidates who have already passed two-year full-time PGP/ MBA from IIMs or Institutions/ Universities in NIRF 2023 top 50 Ranking with a minimum CGPA of 6.00 and above on a scale of Ten or equivalent or with a minimum of 60 percent marks or equivalent are exempted from the test score.
• Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for PI round based on entrance exam score
• Personal Interview: Upon being shortlisted, the candidate shall appear for a personal interview before the Expert panel. The panel will assess the suitability of the candidates for research work based on the portfolio of the candidate. Candidate will especially be assessed based on Statement of Purpose (SOP) apart from academic record, professional accomplishments
• Final Merit List for PhD Admission: Merit List will be prepared based on Personal Interview, Academic Qualification, Relevant Work Experience and Research Statement of Purpose (SOP).
• Accept PhD Admission Offer and Pay Acceptance Fees: Full-time Ph.D scholars are exempted from tuition/programme fee. However, the selected candidates will have to deposit an offer of acceptance fee of INR 50,780 to confirm the acceptance of the offer out which an amount of INR 44,000 will be refunded after completion of the programme by the candidate, else it will be forfeited and an amount of INR 6000/- (excluding GST @ 18%) will be adjusted towards alumni fee (Non-Refundable).
