IIM Indore IPMAT 2024 Analysis: QA, DI bit Difficult; VA Little Different; Check Pattern, Marking Scheme, Cut off for IIM Indore, Ranchi, IIFT, TAPMI

IIM Indore IPMAT 2024 exam has got over at 4 PM on Thursday May 23, 2024. IPMAT 2024 was conducted in a single shift from 2 PM to 4 PM as a computer based test for admission to IIM Indore 5 year Integrated programme in Management 2024-29 offering dual degree BBA+MBA. IPMAT 2024 remained of moderate difficulty level while a few questions were found to be a bit more difficult and on different pattern.

During the last four years, IIM Indore has kept its IPMAT exam difficulty level more or less similar. As such the overall cut off for shortlisting may not change much. IPMAT exam offers admission opportunity in IIM Indore dual degree programme of BBA+MBA. IPMAT 2024 score will also be accepted by IIM Ranchi, IIFT, TAPMI, Nirma University, NALSAR University of Law for BBA and IPM admission 2024.

1. IPMAT 2024 Exam Analysis: Key changes

  • IPMAT 2024 has reduced total questions from 100 to 90
  • This year SA questions in Quant were Moderate but MCQs & DI sets bit difficult
  • Verbal Ability had a few Type in Answer based Parajumble  
  • IPMAT 2024 exam was conducted in the afternoon shift from 2 PM to 4 PM.

2. IPMAT 2024 Exam: Overall Exam Analysis

IPMAT 2024 exam key highlights on revised exam pattern are

  • Test Pattern: Objective-type test with MCQs and Short Answer (SA) questions
  • Two sections Exam: Quantitative Ability (Divided into 2 sections); and Verbal Ability
  • No. of Questions: Reduced to 90
  • Time Duration: 120 minutes
  • Pre-Specified Order to Answer Questions: Candidates must answer the sections in a pre-specified order and this order is same for all the candidates.
  • QA (MCQ) Section Time Limit: 40 Minutes
  • QA (SA) Section Time Limit: 40 Minutes
  • VA Section Time Limit: 40 Minutes

4. IIM Indore IPMAT 2024 Exam Analysis: Marking Scheme

  • Scoring Pattern: Each correct answer carries +4 marks. 
  • Negative Marking (Only for MCQs): -1 mark for each wrong answer for MCQs
  • Negative Marking for Short Answer Questions: No Negative marking for Short Answer (SA) questions
  • Maximum Marks: 360

5. IPMAT 2024 Exam Analysis: Difficulty Level

IPMAT 2024 remained of Moderate Difficulty level exam. A few short answer (SA) questions in Quantitative Aptitude section of IPMAT 2024 were found bit more difficult. The cut offs are not expected to change much for shortlisting.

6. Calculation of Composite Score in IPMAT 2024 Exam

IIM Indore has revised the score computation formula for IPMAT 2024. The revised score calculation process for IPMAT 2024 Composite Score is:

  • Score in Quantitative Ability (MCQ) Section: 25 x (Candidate's Score — Min. Score)/(Max. Score — Min. Score)
  • Score in Quantitative Ability (SA) Section: 25 x (Candidate's Score — Min. Score)/(Max. Score — Min. Score)
  • Score in Verbal Ability Section: 50 x (Candidate's Score — Min. Score)/(Max. Score — Min. Score)
  • Aptitude Test Score (ATS) Sum of above scores
  • Based on above Composite Score, Candidates with highest Scores in each category will be shortlisted for Personal Assessment (PA). The PA round consists of Personal Interview (PI) the mode of which will be decided by the Admissions Committee in due course
  • The Maximum and Minimum scores are the highest and lowest scores obtained in respective sections by the candidates from the eligible pool

7. IPMAT 2024 Cut offs for IPM Admission 2024

The eligible pool for shortlisting for PI round is created considering only the candidates having positive raw scores and a minimum marks in each of the three sections of Aptitude Test.

  • The minimum cut off mark in each section is decided by the Admissions Committee.
  • The minimum cut off mark in each section is based on the categories of applicants.
  • Individual regret letters will not be sent to applicants who are rejected

8. IPMAT Sectional Weightage 2024 for Final Selection

For final admission, IPMAT sectional weightage is:

  • Weightage of IPMAT 2024 Aptitute Test Score (ATS) = 65%
  • Weightage of Personal Assessment (PA) = 35%
  • Composite Score (CS)- Sum of above= 100%

10. IPMAT Exam Analysis by IMS

The IPMAT Indore analysis is based on the students' first-hand entrance test experience. It will provide useful insights into the exam, such as the types of questions asked, the number of good attempts, the difficulty level, and the expected cutoff.

The user interface was friendly, and no students complained about difficulties during the test. As expected, there were three sections with a time limit of 40 minutes per section. The paper pattern was unchanged as compared to IPMAT Indore 2023.

Quantitative Ability (SA)
