Established in 2008 as an autonomous institution with the active support from the Government of Bihar, Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) is a premier management institute and is ranked amongst the top B-schools of India in NIRF Ranking 2024 in the rank band 101-125 in management category.
CIMP has been contributing substantially to the academic and development credentials of Bihar while fulfilling the primary role of training students to become professional managers. In a short span of 15 years, CIMP’s achievements are known to the corporate world and the institute has been able to place its graduates in various companies of national and international repute.
CIMP offers a two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management, approved by AICTE, accredited by NBA, and recognized by AIU. CIMP also offers AICTE approved Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) and Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EFPM). Besides, CIMP has started AICTE approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management- Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Venture Development (PGDM-IEV) for those who are aspiring career in Entrepreneurship.

Admission
CIMP will accept score of Common Admission Test (CAT 2024), Xavier Aptitude Test ( XAT 2025), Common Management Admission Test (CMAT 2025), MAT 2024/2025. Selection of the candidates for admission to the 2025-27 batch will be a three-step process:
Step-1: Shortlisting: CIMP Shortlisting of the candidates will be done on the basis of Test scores (CAT 2024, XAT 2025, CMAT 2025, MAT 2024/2025) and criteria like the previous academic record and relevant work experience. The candidates shall be shortlisted on the basis of the overall rank computed taking into account of all the components
Step-2: Shortlisted candidates would be called to attend Group Discussion (GD) & Personal Interview (PI) in April 2025. Applicants will be informed about the GD/PI schedule through emails/phone.
Step-3: The final merit list would be prepared after considering weighted scores of various components like the Academic record, Test score, Work experience, and Performance in Writing Ability Test, Psychometric test, Group Discussion & Personal Interview.

Library
The state-of-the-art Library Resource Centre (LRC) is a major facilitator of CIMP’s teaching, learning, training, and research activities. The library resource centre is one of the best in the country with e-resources as part of its resource collaboration with Harvard Business School Publishing (HBSP) and DELNET (Developing Library Network New Delhi), INFLIBNET and NDLI.
Hostel
The institute has separate hostel blocks for boys and girls, providing single-room occupancy. Every hostel room has round-the-clock internet connectivity and power supply.
Labs
IBM Business Analytics Lab at CIMP trains the students, faculty, corporate, and Govt. executives in various areas of data and decision sciences. NSE Lab is also available to boost stock market understanding of students.
