Curriculum Highlights

IIM Shillong PGP curriculum make you dive into a challenging, rigorous and holistic program that chisels you in time-tested management principles as well as current best practices. You also get the exposure to evolve next generation practices through active interaction with industry on a continuous basis. The PGP program blends core courses and elective courses spread over six terms in two years with a two -month internship at the end of year one. 

Choice of specialization is offered in second year. You can choose the subject of your choice with a Course of independent Study. A general management perspective with the Capstone courses is offered to enable you to lead an economically and ecologically sustainable world.

To further enrich the experience of the participants, the curriculum is supplemented by visits to foreign universities with a view to enabling understanding of business management from different cultural perspectives. Visits to industries in those countries are also a part of the Programme. The International Immersion is optional module.

The evolving, interdisciplinary curriculum at IIM Shillong is delivered in a collaborative learning setting to offer a holistic development towards active experiential learning and participant oriented case methodology. Students will engage with the industry and academia as well as the local community as facilitators and catalysts of change. A judicious blend of class room teaching, case analysis, simulation, modeling, scenario building, industry analysis will ignite active participation to enhance knowledge, attitude, skills and a mindset for the dynamic world outside.

Eligibility Criteria

  • IIM Shillong Eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. 
  • The candidate should appear in CAT exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to be considered for shortlisting. 
  • Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for Admission

Admission Process

Application Status: Open

Application process for admission at IIM Shillong opens with the start of CAT  registration process. Candidates have to apply for CAT by the last date. At this stage, there is no need to apply and pay separately for IIM Shillong Admission. After release of CAT exam result, IIM Shillong separately opens its registration and application window. You can register by the stipulated date 

Admission/Selection Process for Candidates for PGP (MBA) at IIM Shillong is through CAT. The selection of the candidates for admission to the PGP at IIM Shillong is a two-step process.

In the first step, candidates are short-listed for Personal Interview (PI) round from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme. Detailed Admission process is as below:

  • The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required percentile in CAT. 
  • Candidates are short-listed for PI round which is conducted in many cities. Candidates are shortlisted from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme   
  • After the PI round, IIM Shillong will award weightages to various parameters and admission offers are made by IIM Shillong to successful candidates. 
  • The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in PI round, academics, diversity, work experience among others

Admission offer letter would be sent to all successful candidates. Candidates, who are offered admission, need to confirm their acceptance by completing all the required formalities by the stipulated date

How to Apply

Register and apply for CAT exam by paying the requisite application fee for the exam. On the page 4 of CAT application form, you need to select IIM Shillong PGP and other programs and select the interview city. Your application for IIM Shillong admission is submitted. At this stage, you do not need to apply and pay separately for IIM Shillong Admission. After declaration of CAT exam result, IIM Shillong opens its application window. You should register and apply at IIM Shillong PGP admission website with requisite fees. You also need to check at IIM Shillong website whether you are shortlisted by entering your CAT registration ID and password
