1. TANCET Eligibility Criteria 2025: Overview

A citizen of India and a graduate with minimum 50% marks is eligible to appear in TANCET exam 2025. However, the TANCET Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025 consists of various important points to determine TANCET 2025 exam eligibility as below:

TANCET 2025 is the MBA entrance test for the MBA admission 2024 in the colleges of Tamil Nadu State. TANCET exam eligibility 2025 is determined by Anna University Chennai which conducts TANCET every year. TANCET 2025 exam eligibility criteria include TANCET Eligibility Age, Academic Qualification (Completed Degree Requirement); TANCET Eligibility Criteria for Final Year Students; Concession in TANCET Exam Eligibility for Tamil Nadu State and All India category students, and more. 2. TANCET Eligibility 2025: Completed Qualification

The TANCET exam eligibility criteria 2025 require that the applicants must have passed a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration and obtained at least 50 % marks (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination. 

4. Accepted Academic Qualifications for TANCET 2025

The candidate applying for TANCET 2025 must have at least one of the following qualifications to become eligible for Anna University TANCET exam: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in 10+2+3 years pattern 
  • 10+3 years Diploma as per +3 years pattern 
  • B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Pharm Degrees
  • 10+2+AMIE or 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE. 

5. TANCET Eligibility Criteria 2025 - Marks Calculation

If your marks sheet shows maximum marks, marks obtained with percentage of marks, the calculation of marks and percentage of marks are taken as per your marks sheet. However, in other cases the calculation of marks to determine the TANCET eligibility criteria 2025 will be as under:

  • Aggregate Percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be taken into account
  • In case of grades/CGPA, it will be converted to percentage of marks

5.1 TANCET 2025 eligibility Criteria: Marks Calculation from CGPA/Grades
The process of TANCET Eligibility Determination by converting CGPA/Grades to Percentage of Marks is done as below:

  • In case of CGPA where no percentage of marks is given on the marks-sheet, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice as followed by the respective University/Institution. 
  • The conversion to percentage of marks from Grades/CGPA is based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/Institution.
  • If any University/Institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100. 

7. TANCET Eligibility 2025: Domicile Criteria

TANCET eligibility does not restrict any candidate from any state to appear in the TANCET exam. Other State Candidates can also appear for the TANCET entrance exam. However, the domicile eligibility conditions will be stipulated by the admitting authority / University. In its TANCET Notification, Anna University, the TANCET conducting body has clarified, “Some Universities and Self-Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in TANCET. Other State candidates can appear for the entrance test, but the eligibility conditions will be stipulated by the admitting authority / University.”

8. TANCET Eligibility 2025: Fee Concession

TANCET 2025 eligibility for fee concession while applying for the exam for different category of candidates is as below:

  • General Category Fee for TANCET 2025: Rs.1000
  • TANCET Fees Concession Eligibility for Tamilnadu State Candidates: Students of SC/ST and other Reserved category from Tamilnadu state need to pay only Rs.500 towards TANCET Fees

9. Candidates who are Not Eligible for TANCET 2025

  • If you are not pursuing or completed your Bachelor’s degree or any Professional degree, you are not eligible to appear for TANCET 2025
  • If you have not completed any graduation course but you are in the final year of a professional course like AMIE, you are not eligible for TANCET 2025.
  • If you have scored below 50% marks in graduation as a general category candidate and below 45% as SC/ST/PwD candidate you are not eligible for TANCET 2025
  • If your Graduation is not recognized by UGC/AICTE/MHRD-Govt. of India, you are not eligible to apply for TANCET 2025 

10. How to Ensure TANCET Exam Eligibility? Key Points

  • TANCET eligibility criteria 2025 do not impose any age bar to appear in TANCET 2025 exam.
  • TANCET eligibility allows you to appear in TANCET 2025 only if you have done graduation from a UGC recognized university or the other graduation as given above duly recognized by the competent authority
  • Ensure that you fulfil one of the TANCET eligibility criteria 2025 like Completed Bachelor’s degree with the required percentage of marks, or Completed professional degree with required percentage, or  In the final year of Bachelor’s degree with required percentage 
  • Mere fulfilment of minimum TANCET eligibility criteria 2025 will not ensure consideration for short listing by the institutes.
