Data Analysis (DA) is the first section in TANCET exam and has 20% weightage in the exam. This section includes questions based on Table, Pie charts, graphs, comparative data and others. The syllabus for Data Analysis section is like XAT Decision Making section syllabus. The caselets/paragraphs on a given situation requires you to take appropriate decision in a Business Situation. The syllabus for Data Analysis section consists of passage and paragraphs on business situation with comparative data. This data may be clubbed with the text or may be with Tables, Graphs etc. Every problem set is followed by number of questions with the requirement of taking the most appropriate decision. Data Sufficiency (DS) is the fourth section in TANCET exam and has 20% weightage in the exam. This section includes questions based on short problem sets which have sufficient or insufficient data to answer the questions. Each problem set is followed by two Statements. Candidate has to decide whether the data given in the statement-1 or statement-2 is sufficient to answer the question, insufficient to answer or both statements are to be used to answer. Almost all the questions are based on this pattern. This section is a mix of Data based questions as well as Logical Reasoning questions.

Data Sufficiency section in TANCET is a Test on determining data sufficiency for answering questions using the given data and the knowledge of mathematics and use of day-to-day facts.
